Surface Book 3 to feature Quadro GPUs up to 32GB RAM, according to European retailers - silversurfer - 14 April 20

Quote:Microsoft is expected to announce the Surface Book 3 and the Surface Go 2 sometime soon, and evidence of that is starting to pop up on some retailers. Spotted by WinFuture, some retailer listings have revealed the specs that will be inside the two devices.

Regarding the Surface Book 3, the listings confirm that Microsoft will include Nvidia Quadro graphics in at least some of the models, aligning with rumors back in February. However, unlike earlier speculation, Microsoft will be using Intel Comet Lake chips, rather than the 10nm-based Ice Lake. The latter would have allowed for better integrated graphics, but it looks like you'll have to go with dedicated graphics if you want the extra performance.

Additionally, the Surface Book 3 will apparently come with up to 32GB of RAM - double of what's available in the Surface Book 2 - and 1TB of SSD storage. Like its predecessor, it'll come in both 13.5- and 15-inch models. Images of some listings show prices varying from roughly €1,000 to over €4,200 for models with maxed out processor, RAM, and storage. Some of these listings could be placeholders, though, since some of them are contradictory. WinFuture claims prices start at around €2,000.

As for the Surface Go 2, listings show variants with Intel's Pentium Gold 4425Y or a Core m3-8100Y, just like what was spotted in an FCC filing yesterday. Pentium variants will come with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage, or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. The Core m3 variants will always have 8GB of RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB SSDs. Both models will have LTE variants.

As for the display, the resolution will, again, be 1800 by 1200 pixels, and it's said the screen might be 11 inches diagonally, slightly larger than the original Surface Go. Prices should range between €500 and €1,000 for the Surface Go 2.

Official announcements for these two devices shouldn't be too far off, especially seeing as the original Surface Go is still out of stock, and the Surface Book 2 is heavily discounted on the Microsoft Store.
