HP's Elite Dragonfly was only announced back in September, and I reviewed it in December calling it one of the best convertibles around. It checks the right boxes, weighing in at under a kilogram, and it has a keyboard that rivals Lenovo's ThinkPads. It's made of machined magnesium, so it doesn't have the same plasticky feel as other magnesium alloy laptops.

At CES, HP announced the Elite Dragonfly G2, and there are a few key new features. First of all, the model that the company sent me is a sort of G1.5, since it only has two of the four new features, the other two of which are coming in the summer.

One is Sure View Reflect, the fourth generation of HP's privacy display. The whole idea is that no one can look over your shoulder while you're working on something, and it makes the screen look like a copper color when you look at an angle. With the third-generation, it looked dark, and with the second generation, it looked white.

The other new feature is Tile integration. You can use it to find your laptop in your home if you've lost it, and it can ring the device if you're within Bluetooth range. It even works when the PC is powered down; however, if the power is completely dead, it can still report the last known location.
