E-reader recommendation - Ultimo - 29 September 20

Since they're not very expensive, price is not a problem. I have never used one of these before. Among Kindle, Kobo and Nook what is the most recommended?

I have only used 2 models of Kindle (had to install them to some costumers), one was the most simple (no touch support) which was a bit uncomfortable to use, and the other already had touch support...

I know this thread is a little old, but the one that is best from a privacy perspective is a Kobo. You can easily hack around the account registration requirement and also run some third-party software like KOReader and Plato. The MobileRead forums is a must-read if you want to look into this: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=223

Here's a quick YouTube video that summarizes how to hack around the Kobo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFGP6gD4Wwg&t=2m48s
