That's going to be the December security update, according to Android Police. That update will include critical fixes from both November and December's patches.
 
The Pixel 2 got a bit more mainstream support than its predecessor did. For the original Pixel handsets, the Mountain View firm promised two years of feature updates and an additional year of security updates. Ever since, it's been promising three years of both.
 
Unfortunately, it still can't keep up with Apple. Right now, Apple is supporting iPhones as far back as the 6s, which came out five years ago, and it will continue to do so until iOS 15 ships next year, when the device is six years old. Of course, no Android OEM matches Apple's support lifecycles for iPhones, but Google is certainly in a position to try if it wanted to. Of course, the other issue is that there are substantially fewer people using three-year-old Pixels than there are using five-year-old iPhones.
