According to AOOSTAR, AMD will launch new Radeon RX 7650M XT graphics card. The company has announced its plans for a new product set to launch this July. The announcement was made on Discord, prompting us to follow up with questions, as “AMD 7650XT” could refer to either a desktop or mobile GPU.

A company representative confirmed to us that the device is an external graphics solution, similar to the OneXplayer ONEXGPU (which comes with the Radeon RX 7600M XT). It is one of the new Radeon variants that will be released. Interestingly, AOOSTAR is planning “several specifications” to be released, which could mean either higher TGP targets or increased memory capacities.

The current RDNA3 lineup for laptops looks a bit underwhelming compared to the GeForce RTX 40 series. For starters, the Radeon RX 7900M, based on the Navi 31XL GPU, is currently exclusive to only one laptop chassis. It seems strange that AMD went through all the effort for such a limited launch, especially since this GPU is not used in any external GPU solutions.

Meanwhile, the RX 7600 and RX 7700 laptop models are exclusively based on the Navi 33 GPU, which offers up to 2048 Stream Processors. Given the chosen name for the RX 7650M XT, one might assume that this is a small specs bump rather than a GPU upgrade, so the newer model should have the same GPU.
