The new graphics card has now appeared on AMD’s website, confirming it is now released. AMD has made no official blog posts or any kind of introduction for this new graphics processor, despite it being one of the most interesting laptop graphics cards to date.

As a reminder, AMD is using two RDNA3 GPUs for its Radeon RX 7000M series: Navi 31 for the RX 7900M and Navi 33 for the RX 7700-7600 series. There’s a significant gap between these SKUs, as the 7900M comes with 72 Compute Units (CUs), while the 7600M XT has 32 CUs. The RX 7800M is now confirmed to feature 60 Compute Units, equivalent to 3,840 Stream Processors.

AMD has previously used this configuration in its desktop GPUs. The RX 7800 XT, for example, offers the same number of cores, which is the full chip specification. However, the memory bus is reduced from 256-bit to 192-bit, and the GPU is said to support 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The card reportedly features 18 Gbps modules, allowing for a maximum bandwidth of 432 GB/s. Additionally, the Infinity Cache is scaled down from 64MB to 48MB.

AMD confirms that the card will feature a 2145 MHz GPU clock and a 180W TGP, similar power metrics to the flagship model, but the latter can boost up to 200W.
