Today, AMD is introducing its new 4nm Ryzen AI 300 series based on Strix Point silicon. The new series is equipped with a new architecture called Zen5, and AMD has upgraded the core count for both the CPU and GPU. Compared to the Ryzen PRO 8040 series based on Hawk Point silicon, users now get 12 Zen5 cores (4x Zen5 and 8x Zen5c), up from 8 Zen4 cores in the predecessor. The graphics have also been upgraded from up to 12 RDNA3 Compute Units to 16 in the highest SKU.

AMD has also upgraded the XDNA Neural Processing Unit to version 2, now capable of up to 55 TOPS (Int8), compared to Hawk Point’s 16 TOPS. AMD claims this will be useful in business LLM (Large Language Model) applications, improving productivity by enabling multilingual chatbots, powering coding assistants, or managing calendars—features mostly already available on consumer non-PRO versions.
