At the Advancing AI event, Dr. Lisa Su is not only celebrating her 10th anniversary as AMD’s CEO and President, but she is also introducing brand-new hardware. For smaller businesses, the Ryzen AI PRO 300 series is expected to hit the market soon, while larger businesses, especially those planning to build data centers, may be interested in the new EPYC 9005 series.

The 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors, codenamed “Turin,” are built using TSMC’s 3nm and 4nm nodes. They offer clock speeds of up to 5.0 GHz and up to 192 cores. AMD has confirmed that the new series provides a 17% IPC uplift over its predecessor, “Genoa.”

The “5” in the name clearly indicates the presence of Zen5 architecture, and there are two versions available: a 128-core version with Zen5 classic cores and a 192-core version with the denser Zen5c variant. Both EPYC 9005 variants use the SP5 socket and are compatible with existing Zen4/Genoa platforms.
