Now 16 GB RAM by default.
With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Dev Kit canceled, the Mac Mini remains the only viable ARM-based option for those seeking a compact desktop PC. The Mac Mini now boasts Apple’s M4 chip and ships with 16GB of RAM as the default.
Earlier this week, Apple announced its new M4 iMac, an all-in-one PC featuring the M4 chip. This busy week also included the official launch of Apple Intelligence. The Mac Mini release is good news for those looking for more ‘affordable’ options within the Apple lineup.
As said, 16GB RAM is now the minimum available, but as usual with Apple, memory and storage upgrades are quite expensive. The M4 Mac Mini is available in four default configurations, with further options allowing customers to choose storage ranging from 256GB to 8TB and RAM from 16GB, 24GB, 48GB, and even 64GB.
