MSI announced that their X870 motherboards can now support much larger capacity at a speed of 6400 MT/s.
MSI has officially announced a new BIOS update for its X870E/X870 series motherboards, which pushes the memory capacity limit to 192GB (already widely supported) but at higher speeds than before.
The 192GB memory configuration requires four DDR5 DIMM slots to be occupied, and each module must have a 48GB capacity. Currently, AMD does not support 64GB modules, but this could change in the future.

It is often recommended to use two DDR5 modules with Ryzen CPUs to preserve the 1:1 Infinity Fabric ratio. Otherwise, users may face slower memory speeds. However, with MSI’s announcement, it now seems possible to run high-capacity DDR5 memory occupying all four slots at 6400 MT/s.
According to Chinese media, this speed can be achieved with SK Hynix memory in 192GB and 128GB configurations. However, with Micron-based memory, the speed goes up to 6000 MT/s.
