Google just announced a major step for its Chrome web browser that is enabling more AI capabilities in Chrome. Google says that this is "fundamentally changing the nature of browsing". The browser evolves from being a tool for rendering websites to "one that understands it, helps you be more productive, and keeps you safer online" according to Google.
 
Gemini in Chrome sits at the heart of the change. Google's Gemini AI is baked into the Chrome browser. The AI's integration unlocks new capabilities, such as the ability to "answer questions about articles" or finding "references within YouTube videos". Helper features, like better finding of pages visited in the past are also coming to Chrome according to Google.
