Which software do you use to protect your device with Android? - Joanna4589 - 09 November 18 I want to ask you: which software do you use to protect device with Android? On my smartphone I installed Zemana AntiVirus and it worked properly, but after I installed Sophos Mobile Security and this software works better than Zemana. Probably in another configuration both software's will works better. I think Sophos Mobile Security is very good, because it warns against apps with bad reputation, with too many permissions, and rarely downloaded. RE: Which software do you use to protect your device with Android? - mekelek - 09 November 18 Norton is the only Android AV that has more than just signatures, and shows you apps reputation when you browse them on the Play Store. other than that, most mainstream AVs provide the same. the lightest is Bitdefender Kaspersky, ESET, Sophos are good as well, but lack a few features. I found Sophos to be extremely buggy UI wise. As I have been happily using Bitdefender and Zemana for years on my pc, and just naturally went with this, on my new android tablet. After looking things over and a bit of research, Dr Capsule looks interesting, anyone ever use it? Google Play Protect has an issue though, if you download an app from the GPlay Store, and it has some virus/malware in it, Play Protect doesn't detect it. Whenever installing an app, either from Play Store or via direct .apk file, make sure to see the permissions the app is asking. For example, a flashlight app shouldn't need any other permissions than camera. If you do want to have a security app, I've heard good things about Kaspersky Mobile though.
