Enhanced Recovery Bin
The Recovery Bin feature is similar to the Windows Recycle Bin. Deleted files aren’t really deleted-they’re simply moved to the bin and held there until the bin is "emptied" or purged. Undelete "intercepts" that "deletion request" by the user and moves it to its own Recycle Bin, called the "Recovery Bin" (in a different location) - so recovering these "deleted files" is easily recovered. (Note: You must have adequate permissions and ownership of a file in order to recover it from the Recovery Bin.)

To view the contents of the Recovery Bin, double-click the Recovery Bin icon on your desktop. The files shown in the Recovery Bin display are files that have been deleted by any of a variety of methods, including the Windows Explorer, File Manager, or any other application capable of deleting files. It also includes files deleted via the Windows command prompt. (Note, however, that long filenames may be shortened to the DOS 8.3 file naming convention when files are deleted from the command prompt.)

You can have more than one Recovery Bin on your computer. By using the Global or Drive settings, you can specify individual Recovery Bins for each disk volume, or choose a single location to where "deleted" files are moved (known as a "Common Recovery Bin").

Difference between Undelete's Recovery Bin and Windows Recycle Bin
The Recovery Bin differs from the standard Windows Recycle Bin in several important ways:
 
  • It allows you to recover files deleted by any method, including Windows Explorer and other applications-even files deleted from the Windows command prompt!

  • You can have a Recovery Bin for any individual disk volumes on your computer, or use a single, "common" Recovery Bin for all your disk volumes.

  • When files are "deleted" and moved by Undelete into the Recovery Bin, they are displayed in a manner very similar to Windows Explorer. users can see and recover the deleted files and the folders as easily as browsing for "normal" files.
The Server and Professional editions and the Desktop Client component of Undelete allow the user to see the contents of the Recovery Bins on remote computers running Undelete Server Edition, allowing users to recover "deleted" files across the network (typically from network file servers). This feature alone is a “life saver” for many System Administrators and Help Desk technicians. It’s no longer necessary to search backup tapes when a network user accidentally deletes a file from the file server.

Server Client Functionality
Undelete Professional automatically looks for and connects to Undelete Server recovery bins, allowing users to seamlessly recover their own deleted files on remote storage servers. Undelete maintains Windows NTFS security to ensure that users can only access files for which they have permission.

Version Recovery For Microsoft Office files
Undelete automatically captures old versions of Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), allowing recovery of earlier, saved-over versions. Version Recovery is integrated with Windows Explorer - simply right-click on a file to recover earlier versions.

Secure Delete® Electronic file Shredder
The SecureDelete® feature in Undelete provides this capability. When enabled, SecureDelete not only deletes the file, but it overwrites the disk space the file previously occupied, thereby removing any remaining traces of the file left on the disk. This is done by overwriting it with a specific bit pattern specified for this purpose by the National Security Agency (NSA) for the Department of Defense (DOD). Finally, after the file has been overwritten, it is deleted. The SecureDelete procedure makes it virtually impossible for anyone to access sensitive file data from a disk after it has been deleted from the Recovery Bin.

The SecureDelete option can be set to overwrite files as they are purged from the Recovery Bin, or immediately as they are deleted. When selected in Global Settings or in Drive Settings, the SecureDelete security feature will permanently erase any file that is deleted from the Recovery Bin. This is done by overwriting it with a specific bit pattern specified for this purpose by the National Security Agency (NSA) for the Department of Defense (DOD). Finally, after the file has been overwritten, it is deleted. The SecureDelete procedure makes it virtually impossible for anyone to access sensitive file data from a disk after it has been deleted from the Recovery Bin.

The Global Settings "SecureDelete" options: 

1. SecureDelete all files immediately
Immediately SecureDelete all files in all Recovery Bins. This action is not reversible. Once the cycle has completed, even the Search feature will not be able to recover files.

2. Enable Recovery Bin SecureDelete on purge
Enables SecureDelete to securely overwrite files as they deleted from individual volumes. Turn on this setting to allow the SecureDelete feature to be available for Individual drive volume Recovery Bins. Note that when this is enabled, all individual Recovery Bins will be set to SecureDelete files from their volumes from that point forward. The SecureDelete feature can be disabled (as needed) on individual Recovery Bins however.

Common Recovery Bin-Cloud Support
Undelete supports setting up a common Recovery Bin as a subfolder within the local sync folder of Cloud Storage services such as OneDrive. The "Common Bin" can also be setup for other Cloud Storage services that use a local sync folder. Prior to managing the common Recovery Bin settings in Undelete, OneDrive must be setup with a new folder set to Sync with the Cloud. As an example, this folder could be called "UDBin" and might be located in the user's OneDrive Sync folder (C:\users\{user_profile_name}\OneDrive\UDBin, where the specific "user profile name" would be shown).

Wipe Free Space
Similar to the SecureDelete feature, the Wipe Free Space feature, located in the Drive Settings, will overwrite any free space on the selected disk volume with a specific bit pattern, making it virtually impossible to read or recover any data that was previously written in the free space. This can be set to manual or automatic wiping. 

Auto-Wipe Free Space will overwrite free space on the selected volume with a specific bit pattern, making it virtually impossible to recover any data that may reside in the free space. It leaves the Recovery Bin intact and functioning, and wipes the free space clean. This keeps the free space clean by wiping on a periodic basis going forward. Automatic wiping can be set via "Settings > Properties". See image below. 

Manual -Wipe Free Space cycle can be initiated by the user anytime at a given volume without having to wait for the next automatic cycle to start. To initiate manual wiping the user needs to go to "Tools > Wipe Free Space" icon. Select a volume from the drop down menu, and Undelete will begin wiping the free space of the selected volume immediately. Wiping free space can sometimes take a while to complete; a spinner will be shown in the upper right of the screen to let you know it is still working.

Full-Disclosure of Deleted files
The Recovery Bin displays information about each deleted file including the file owner, the date and time the file was deleted, and the account used to delete the file. An easy intuitive interface provides the capability to find the lost data, even if the users does not recall the name of the file(s).

Network file Protection
With Undelete Desktop Client or Pro Edition installed on network clients, your users can connect to the Undelete Server Edition Recovery Bins installed on the network file servers and restore their own deleted or saved-over MS Office files. NTFS security is fully supported.

Search Feature / Search Recovery Bin
The "Search" ribbon icon in the "Tools Menu" searches for have really been deleted and that are not located in the Recovery Bin. Take note the phrase "really been deleted" and  "not located". This feature will search the Free Space on your system for the requested file(s).

The Search Recovery Bin feature allows the user to search for files by name and folder location. Undelete's Recovery Bins can house many thousands of files so it will be more easier to search a Recovery Bin for specific files/file names when you don't know which Recovery Bin folder the file(s) reside in. The user can optionally narrow the search by: (1) Adding the date the files were created or deleted, and/or (2) Adding the names of the users who owned or deleted the file(s).

UNDELETE EDITIONS

Undelete Server Edition
Undelete Server Edition enables you to find and recover files deleted on the server where Undelete is installed as well as mapped shares on remote computers on your network (if they also have Undelete Server Edition installed). Undelete Server Edition can also connect directly to remote machines running Undelete Server or Professional, allowing you to access Undelete on the remote computer as if you were sitting in front of the machine. Undelete Server Edition also supports the Undelete Desktop Client, which allows access to Recovery Bins on remote computers. 

Undelete Professional Edition
Protects locally stored files (from where it is installed) and allows files to be recovered from network file servers that have Undelete Server Edition installed. 

Undelete Home Edition
Undelete Home Edition can undelete and recover files deleted from your local computer, but it does not support the Undelete networking features.

Emergency Undelete
Emergency Undelete allows a user to potentially recover deleted files from their system without having to install Undelete first. All "Undelete" downloads Emergency Undelete, which is a unique tool used to recover accidentally deleted files and directory folders before installation of Undelete. Emergency Undelete runs directly off a removable storage media, such as a CD-ROM or flash drive (installing no files at all onto your disk drive).  Emergency Undelete is similar to running the "Search" feature in either the Server, Professional edition of Undelete.

When you save a version protected file, the previous version is deleted as the new version is being written. Undelete now supports copy to the Recovery Bin on first write for any existing file that has a file type designated for versioning. Undelete captures the first write to the disk for an opened versioned file. This powerful features provides the user the ability to restore the "initial state" of an opened file before edits began.


  • NEW Faster Search and Recovery - the speed of search and recovery has been improved.

I like theory of intercepting files deleted and not going to the Recycle Bin of Windows. That replacement is good because I do not need data recovery software. Sometimes when I us data recovery software it takes too long and I have to sort it even when I set filter. Most is junk also so it is hit and miss. When compared to data recovery software Undelete is different and simpler. Undelete 11 if it effectively intercepts wrongly deleted files then its always there ready to be recovered anytime. I like to join to have a chance to get this rare software!

Because it is a program that can be used for data recovery and data protection in the Windows environment. Basically, the server / sub-computers intended for having data protection software Undelete, the program works as follows. We set up the program, it works in the background. Then we delete the file from your computer, and the program can immediately restore it. Undelete data protection logic can also recover deleted data before it is installed. It includes NTFS / FAT disk formats, internal / external disks and command line support.

This is one of the best giveaways i have seen on the internet recently since i haven`t spotted one for Undelete from Condusiv.

I am not only convinced but 100% sure of that because this software is capable of much more than advertised and can recover beyond any deleted operation made and alongside faster search and recovery new feature it can help also reducing the time spent with the recovery process. Because I am sure that stupid me, sooner or later, will delete some important or fun data/info that will make me cry. Sad   ...(I am sure many of you know the experience.)

Also, after reading the information on this page and googling reviews from users and professional critic sites, I realized how great this latest version of Condusiv Undelete is. ...It not only recovers deleted files but has features no other recovery software has yet.

Because Undelete Professional is the only comprehensive software that provides real-time data protection for easy and quick recovery of individual lost or overwritten files. I have a habit of emptying Window's Recycle Bin once I deleted files that I no longer need at that time without realizing I will be needing those in the future. Undelete's built-in Recovery Bin is the game-changer as it can intercept deleted files and even recovers those previously deleted from the PC. I am convinced that Undelete 11 Professional is one of the most effective solutions for the recovery of any files because Undelete program replaces the standard "recycle Bin" Windows on its own storage of deleted files RecoveryBin, which provides a simple and practical recovery of any files, regardless of how they were deleted. The program also recovers files that were deleted before Undelete installation.
