The warning can be configured based on a series of settings, like the amount of time the iPhone can be outside this security area.
 
Apple is also considering adding several other protection systems that would further enhance the wireless security feature. For example, the Cupertino-based company wants iPhones to be automatically locked when an unauthorized person carrying the device steps outside the pre-defined area. Hardware buttons can be disabled, and a message on the screen would warn that the iPhone was stolen.
