Quote:Intel XeSS 2 and XeSS Frame Generation announced
Finally, Intel is making a response to NVIDIA DLSS3 and AMD FSR3. The company is today announcing its new super resolution technology called XeSS2, a long-overdue update for XeSS.
Intel is decoupling its technology into XeSS-SR (Super Resolution) and XeSS-FG (Frame Generation). This technology will work just the same as on DLSS and FSR, it will generate new frames by using XMX acceleration because it relies on neural networks. Officially, this technology will only work on Battlemage and Alchemist, no mention of other series or other GPU vendors at this moment.

The company is also launching new technology similar to NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag2. The purpose of XeSS Low Latency is to reduce the lag otherwise introduced by Frame Generation, so ultimately this would lead to similar latency to XeSS 1.3 running without this feature.
According to Intel, Frame Generation and Low Latency have to be integrated into games. However, Low Latency can be enabled manually.
The new XeSS2 technology is said to provide 2.8x to 3.9x higher performance on Arc B580 graphics card compared to baseline without XeSS.
