Leaked Geekbench data shows that Acer is preparing a budget laptop powered by AMD’s new APU called Krackan Point 2. This name has already appeared as a potential update to Krackan, but details are not yet known.
What we do know is that KRK2 (Krackan Point 2) will be used by the Ryzen AI 5 330. We also learn that this version of the APU has only four cores, divided into one Zen5 and three Zen5c cores. This clearly indicates a very budget-oriented option. Worth noting that the full KRK2 silicon should feature two Zen5 and four Zen5c cores.
Furthermore, the Ryzen AI 5 330 is equipped with Radeon 820M graphics. This tier wasn’t available before, and it likely means only 2 RDNA3.5 Compute Units, matching the core count of the Granite Ridge (desktop) IO die, though upgraded to a newer architecture. This also means that 2 CUs are most likely disabled from full KRK2 chip.
