Windows 11 25H2 to include native option to remove apps from an installation

Quote:Windows apps have been a hot topic on this site since the release of Windows 10. The native apps that ship with Windows cover lots of ground: they add native support for editing text, viewing images, browsing the Web, or editing video. While they ensure that Windows supports a wide range of file formats and tasks right after installation, they have not been without controversy.

Most Windows users have a number of native Windows apps they love and some that they do not use or would never touch. This was tested time and time again when Microsoft tried to push new apps such as Cortana or 3D Builder into the ecosystem.

Many of them can be uninstalled from the user system directly, but it may depend on your location or configuration.. Specialized programs, like O&O AppBuster, improve the process, for instance through batch uninstall options or unlocking apps for removal that Windows does not want you to remove.

Businesses face tough decision when it comes to apps as well. Is a particular app needed or can it go? Users may not have the rights to remove apps on their own, and businesses sometimes want to make sure that a certain app is not available.
