MIT invention builds memory walls to protect against Meltdown, Spectre attacks

Quote:Researchers from MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) have created a new system which is able to reduce the risk of memory-based attacks such as Meltdown and Spectre.

In a paper describing the research (.PDF), the team described how their system is able to fully isolate programs through the cache, preventing data leaks and securing the channel currently used for timing attacks.
