Gamers who want long-term support and competitive performance should not look at these new processors. For the AM4 socket, the unquestionable leaders are the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and 5800X3D processors, featuring 3D V-Cache. Granted, they are not as cheap as other solutions, but this means you don’t have to upgrade as soon.
Meanwhile, the recently launched Ryzen 5005G series are the opposite of what gamers should look at. The Cezanne-based APUs are not as powerful for gaming as Vermeer, which has twice the cache size. However, for those who seek a cheap alternative to discrete graphics, such as commercial or business users, this architecture may still be worth considering.
