Quote:Microsoft has released new previews of the monthly rollups that it plans to ship to Windows 7 and 8.1 devices as part of the June 2019 Patch Tuesday cycle.
Windows 7 testers can thus download and install preview of monthly rollup KB4499178, while on Windows 8.1 Microsoft has started testing update KB4499182.
The Windows 7 update comes with a single known issue, and it concerns a problem with McAfee security software that could cause devices to freeze on boot. The issue also exists in the latest monthly rollup shipped to Windows 7 devices on the May 2019 Patch Tuesday, and Microsoft says a fix is still in the works.
In the case of update KB4499182 for Windows 8.1, there are three bugs that have already been acknowledged, all of them confirmed to exist in previous monthly rollups too.
In addition to the McAfee compatibility glitch mentioned above, Windows 8.1 devices could experience file renaming issues on Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) and problems with the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE).
