Hubble spoiled us since 1990 with fantastic footage from the depths of space. The space telescope has brought us hot sun and exploding supernovas into the living room and always discover something new.

On April 24, 1990, the telescope made aboard the space shuttle Discovery to conquer space. One day later, Hubble has already been exposed in orbit. Around 120,000 times since it orbited the Earth, it took tens of thousands of objects targeted and held it to more than one million photos. For the first time "click" it made on May 20, 1990. Each week sends the observatory some 120 gigabytes of data to Earth, which is about 26 DVDs. Nearly 13,000 scientific publications have already appeared in his observations.


In 2018, the planned James Webb Space Telescope could succeed the Hubble Space Telescope. By NASA, there are now 3 free Hubble e-books (English) for download, with additional facts and great pictures:
