Microsoft Pulls Office Update KB4462238 Due to Freezing Bug

Quote:Microsoft has pulled an update for Microsoft Office 2016 because it caused Office applications to freeze when you clicked on links.
 
According to the support notes for the "May 7, 2019, update for Office 2016 (KB4462238)", after installing this update when you click on a hyperlink in an Outlook, Word, Excel. or PowerPoint, it may cause the application to freeze. The article then recommends you remove the update if you experience these issues.
 
"After this update is installed, clicking a hyperlink in an Office application, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or Outlook, may cause the application to stop working. If you experience this issue, you can uninstall the update by following the instructions in the "More information" section."
 
In an update made today, the support article now states that Microsoft has pulled the update and it is no longer available. This includes from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
