First and foremost, with this update the Microsoft Edge Dev channel is updated to build 79.0.309.5 and gets fixes for a series of crashes, like the one that you experience when logging into the browser.

As compared to the previous announcement, the new release is just a build newer, and Microsoft says it’s all because this new update actually represents a beta candidate. In other words, the company wants to further polish this build and then push it to the Beta channel.

However, that also means it’s a pretty light week this week in terms of notable changes,” Microsoft Edge engineer Josh Bodner explains.
