Quote:AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D teased supporting fast memory
It looks like someone is spoiling the capabilities of AMD’s upcoming gaming CPU features.
It appears that the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now available to leakers or employees of motherboard manufacturers who are willing to share interesting details. Whatever the source of this image, it seems they want everyone to know what the upcoming 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D is capable of, one of those things being support for high-speed memory.
Wccftech obtained a screenshot that allegedly shows a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor running on an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E HERO motherboard with a 504 BIOS. The image shows the CPU supporting 32GB of DDR5 memory (16GB per module) at 8800 MT/s. The site claims that the leaker used G.Skill Trident Z5 memory (note: not a CUDIMM module) with DDR5-8000 specs and CL38-48-48-128 timings at 1.45V, which is considered out-of-the-box support.

However, it seems the memory can be further overclocked to 8800 MT/s with the UCLK set to Memclock/2. Also noteworthy is that the required voltage to run this memory was 1.54V. The leaker used a RunMemtestPro test, confirming that the CPU has 16 logical cores (8 physical) and remained stable throughout its 34-minute runtime.
