This Is What Huawei Could Call Its New Operating System
#1
Quote:A trademark filing with the EUIPO (European Union intellectual Property Office) discovered by AH reveals that Huawei is considering three different names for its operating system, namely Huawei Ark OSHuawei Ark, and Ark OS.

Most likely, the OS will eventually be called Huawei Ark OS when it’s ready to make its public debut on devices sold by the company.
Ark OS is supposed to help Huawei get around the US restrictions that block it from using Windows and Android.

According to an order signed by US President Donald Trump earlier this month, Huawei is banned from doing any business with American companies. In other words, it can no longer use their products, and these include Windows and Android, the two operating systems that it was using on its own smartphones and PCs.

Without an operating system to power these devices, Huawei started the development of its own in-house platform. Codenamed Hongmeng, the Huawei operating system could see daylight for the first time later this year when it’s expected to debut on products aimed at the Chinese market.

The international launch of Huawei’s OS is set for 2020 when a new series of devices is projected to go on sale in Europe.
Hongmeng, or Huawei Ark OS, will power both PCs and smartphones, as the Chinese tech giant develops it as a universal platform supposed to run on more than just one category of devices.

Quote:Huawei has recently registered a trademark for its upcoming operating system supposed to replace Android and Windows on its own devices.

Called Hongmeng, the operating system showed up in the documents of the Trademark Office of China’s National Intellectual Property Administration earlier this month, confirming that Huawei is working at full speed on getting it ready for launch.
As per CGTN, the application was submitted on August 24, 2018, and the Hongmeng trademark is valid between May 14, 2019, and May 13, 2029.

Huawei trying to register the Hongmeng trademark in the summer of 2018 shows that the company indeed expected a potential ban that would restrict the use of Android and Windows. Huawei officials said on several occasions they were working on an in-house operating system to replace Windows and Android, but the company only accelerated the development of this project once the United States government set new restrictions over its licensing deals with American companies.

Without google playstore app this OS will not be very successful outside China but I think they will do meetings and solve the issue with USA. Huawei was making good phones and making good competition, America anti competitive and ruin the competition which will make other company increase price. This is bad for poor person like me who can only buy cheap phones.
