Please recommend the brand and specs for a desktop.
The desktop is for home use and will be used by 4 users for general purposes email, office, etc.
And I will install a virtualization software VMware or VirtualBox, what do you recommend?

As always all depends on how much money do You want to spend.
Minimum specs:
8GB of RAM
SSD drive

harlan, I have not tried AMD yet. Should I go with Intel or AMD?

It seems in laptops Intel still has better performance, but AMD upcoming CPUs for laps look very promising also

Ah sorry, well then even better, AMD for desktops has amazing Ryzen procesors, and the new generation coming this summer is even better!
