How to Configure Automatic Scans with Windows Defender on Windows 10
#1
Quote:The first thing you need to do is launch the Group Policy Editor. To do this, click the Start menu or press Windows key + R and then type gpedit.msc.

Navigate to the following location in the Group Policy Editor:
Code:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus > Scan

On the right side of the screen, you’re going to find several policies that allow you to configure how the scheduled scan works, including the following:
Code:
Specify the scan type to use for a scheduled scan
Specify the day of the week to run a scheduled scan
Specify the time for a daily quick scan
Specify the time of day to run a scheduled scan

Each policy comes with a pretty self-explanatory name, and all of them are by default set to Not Configured. To change their status, double-click the policy and choose between Enabled or Disabled.
