The new version of Android added an incredibly cool feature

Apparently, the new Android operating system, which Google released last month, still brought with it several new features and capabilities, which greatly simplifies the use of a mobile device based on this OS.

Today it became known that the American corporation realized in Android 8.1 Oreo a new incredibly cool feature, which it is most likely peeked into iOS from Apple. Although gradually all manufacturers began to equip basic modifications of their mobile devices with just 32 GB or 64 GB of permanent flash memory, however, most Android-smartphones are still equipped with only 16 GB or even 8 GB of ROM. This amount is not enough for everyone, so Google has implemented an incredibly cool feature in Android 8.1 Oreo, which allows you to increase the amount of free space on the drive without harming the user data.

The developers found in the code of the open platform AOSP, which was updated several hours ago, a new feature that was added to the new build of Android 8.1 Oreo. It will be available for download and installation on Google smartphones in the next few days, but still in the beta. The American corporation realized a function that automatically removes long-unused applications, but at the same time they will save all the data stored in them in the device.

As a result, for example, if an Android-based smartphone has a game with a weight of 2 GB and the user does not use it for 1-2 months (does not launch), it will be automatically deleted from memory to expand the available space, but all The data in it (save and gameplay) will remain on the device. If the user again wants to play it, then he just needs to connect to a Wi-Fi or LTE network, then click on the application icon.

The operating system Android 8.1 Oreo itself in this case will report that this application has been removed, and now it will be downloaded to the device back. The new incredibly cool feature in the new build of Android from Google allows you to significantly increase the free space on the drive without any obvious harm to user data. To see how it works in practice, it will become possible in the near future, when Google will distribute a new OS build among beta test participants. Earlier it was reported that Google implemented in the new operating system algorithm, which significantly increases the battery life.
