New workstation GPU
NVIDIA is introducing a new professional desktop GPU designed for 3D modeling, rendering, data visualization, and video streaming. This release is in response to U.S. export restrictions, which hinder the shipment of the flagship RTX 6000 ADA GPU to certain countries, including China. The RTX 5880 ADA presents a solution with reduced specifications that adhere to the performance limits imposed by these restrictions.
The graphics card features a cut-down AD102 GPU, featuring 14080 CUDA cores, marking a 22% reduction compared to the RTX 6000 ADA. Consequently, the Tensor core count has decreased from 568 to 440. Officially, the card delivers 69.3 TFLOPS of single-precision compute performance (24% slower than RTX 6000).
With a lowered board power of 285W, a 15W reduction compared to the 6000 ADA, the GPU maintains the same video encoding and decoding support. It retains the dual-slot design with a blower-style cooler, and the memory specifications remain unchanged. The card is equipped with 48 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 384-bit interface, providing a maximum bandwidth of 960 GB/s.
