AMD is trying to catch up to NVIDIA by introducing ROCm support for even broader hardware and more platforms, but it is nowhere near NVIDIA in terms of market adoption. Last week, AMD announced that ROCm 7 is now available, marking an important step for the open-source platform as it aims to challenge NVIDIA’s CUDA, which remains the dominant force in GPU-accelerated AI and compute. Despite growing support and rapid improvement, ROCm’s user and developer adoption still lags far behind CUDA.
