Mechanical keyboard from manufacturer MantisTek found sending keystrokes to a server

Want a cheap mechanical keyboard? You might want to stay away from the software which they come with. MantisTek is a manufacturer from China which makes the MantisTek GK2, sells its Keyboards on multiple websites including Amazon.com.

According to a report from users, the keyboard's drivers connect it to the cloud, where it sends the user data without permission. Basically it records your key strokes, a practice known as key logging, and sends it to a server which has an IP address tied to Alibaba servers. But Alibaba does offer cloud services, so it is most likely a third-party which collects the data.

You can block the CMS.exe (reportedly part of the configuration software, which the keyboard ships with) from your firewall. This is allegedly the MantisTek Cloud Driver.
