New NVIDIA App Beta Update Available Now

The NVIDIA app is the essential companion for gamers and creators with NVIDIA GPUs in their PCs and laptops. Our initial beta release in February was the first step in our journey to modernize and unify the NVIDIA Control Panel, GeForce Experience and RTX Experience, and today we’re launching a new update with new features.

The new beta update adds 120 FPS AV1 video capture, introduces one-click automatic GPU tuning, and enhances the NVIDIA app overlay.

If you haven’t already tried the NVIDIA app beta, download it from our website; if the NVIDIA app is already installed, the new beta update will be automatically downloaded and installed when you next open the client.

GeForce Experience still around

The new update adds 122 game support. 
 
It seems that NVIDIA has no plans to replace “GeForce Experience” with its newer app called “NVIDIA App” anytime soon. Both applications are now offered simultaneously, with the latter slowly gaining new features. In the meantime, the older app is still maintained and receiving updates.

NVIDIA has updated its software to support new games, with 122 games now included. What’s worth noting is that the last 3.27 version came out in November 2023, marking the first update in nearly seven months.

New game profiles are just part of the update; it also introduces several bug fixes, such as confusing driver update prompts even after installing new drivers or problems with HDR modes cutting video recording short upon enabling. The onscreen display with framerate and latency will no longer show “NA” label. Also, those who like to take screenshots will also be pleased to know that NVIDIA fixed a bug that prevented capturing them in windowed game mode.

NVIDIA has not confirmed if or when GeForce Experience will be completely replaced by NVIDIA App. However, considering the increasing popularity of the latter and its lack of requirement for an online account, it seems likely that the days of GeForce Experience are numbered.
