AMD releases updated FidelityFX SDK featuring FSR 3.1.4 with reduced upscaler ghostin

FidelityFX SDK 1.1.4 with FSR 3.1.4 released



AMD has just released an updated FidelityFX Software Development Kit for game developers. This kit combines a range of AMD technologies that can improve image quality and performance through various techniques. However, for most gamers probably the most important technology here is FSR, the FidelityFX Super Resolution.

It’s worth noting that AMD already offers FSR 4, but this version is exclusive to RDNA4 graphics cards. The AI-based upscaling algorithm runs on top of the driver and requires users to enable the updated technology on a per-game basis. Meanwhile, FSR 3.1 remains the version most gamers will use without access to the newer upscaling method.

With the new SDK, AMD released a new version of FSR 3.1.4, which reduces disocclusion ghosting. This improvement comes from a newly introduced default setting for one of the parameters, so not really a new algorithm, just a tweak to settings.
