For Honor is getting a free weekend across all platforms, starting at 12:00 a.m. PT November 9 (that’s next Thursday), and running until the same time November 13. That means you’ll be able to play it from Friday until Monday, which should be enough time to figure out whether or not you like the game. Preloading of the PS4 and PC versions starts on November 7 (no time is listed for the Xbox version).

Then, for players who come away enamoured with the game, there will be an option to buy it digitally at a reduced rate. Discounts of ‘up to 60%’ will be available across all platforms, and your progress made over the weekend will carry over.

This is being done to usher in the impending fourth season of For Honor. With the Feast of the Otherworld event having just wrapped up, For Honor fans now have something new to look forward to. Season three had some real problems, so it should be interesting to see how things go with this one.

Season 4 will introduce two new heroes: the Aramusha (Samurai Hybrid) and Shaman (Viking Assassin). If you have a season pass these characters will unlock straight away on November 14, while everyone else will be able to buy them for 15,000 steel from November 21.

There will also be a ranked Dominion mode added, and an all-new ‘Tribute’ mode. From the press release: “In this new objective-based mode players fight for control of three Offerings scattered throughout the map and aim to bring them to their teams’ Shrines and secure victory. Upon the presentation of an Offering, each Shrine grants the entire team a unique buff, forcing players to make strategic choices on where to place their Offerings.”

If you’re a For Honor player, expect an influx of new players next weekend – and make sure you’re kind to them if you want them to stick around.

Ubisoft announced today that Season 4 For Honor , entitled Order & Havoc will be available on all platforms on November 14 and the previous weekend, the title will be playable for free.

Order & Havoc offer new free content including an original mode 4 against 4: Tribute, two new Heroes, two additional maps, new items and a new customization update announced as important.
  • New game modes tribute and Dominion ranked:
In the Tribute mode, based on the achievement of objectives, players compete for control of three offerings spread across the map and bring them in the Sanctuary of their team to ensure victory. When Offering is given, each Sanctuary equips the team of a single boost, forcing players to make choices and to place their offerings wisely. In addition to this new mode, competitive play continues expansion in For Honor, which will include a mode for Dominion Ranked later this season.
  • The new maps and new heroes:
Players will discover two new maps, Market and Showdown, as well as two new warriors, each faction bringing to a total of six heroes.
Aramusha (Samurai Hybrid) Armed with dual katanas, the Aramusha use their blades to the attack as in defense. They navigate carefully through the battlefield and can dodge and attack quickly. The strength Aramusha make mistakes of their opponents to punish them in an endless stream of fast attacks from all directions.

Shaman (Viking Assassin) Hachette and dagger in hand, Shamans use these weapons with deadly speed and accuracy. They are ferocious and aggressive warriors who are top of their strength when attacking. Rampaging over their opponents like wild beasts, Shamans are becoming more efficient as their enemies lose their blood on the battlefield.

Finally, from 9 to 12 November next, players will have access on all platforms, the entire contents of For Honor, 5 multiplayer modes, playable campaign solo or co-op. Players can also pre-load the game from November 7 on PlayStation 4 and PC (via Uplay). For those who wish to continue the adventure at the end of the free weekend, players will retain their progression. Ubisoft will also offer discounts on digital versions of the game on all platforms.

For Honor is available on PC , PS4 and Xbox One .
