A concept published this week, however, pushes the whole feature lineup to a completely new level, as it proposes a bunch of innovative ideas that are rather unlikely to make their way to the iPhone 12.
One of them is a display that expands to the edge of the phone, more like Samsung’s Galaxy models that allowed you to use the side for things like calendar, notifications, icons, and checking the weather.
But this iPhone concept also envisions hologram support, which would be powered by a camera installed at the top of the screen. This is something that Apple could actually do at some point, albeit there’s a very slim chance this happens in the next few years.
The thing most iPhone users will probably enjoy the most in this concept is the proposed design, as the curved edges are dumped in the favor of an approach that reminds of the iPhone 4. Right now, iPhone 4 continues to be one of the iPhones people still love the most as far as the design goes, with many calling for Apple to bring back its slab-sided design to the next-generation models.
For now, Apple just wants to stick with its typical baby steps, so it won’t change too much about the iPhone overnight. The upcoming 2020 generation won’t feature too many cosmetic changes, as the design of the iPhone could remain pretty much unchanged from the current lineup.
