The Break Mode helps users unplug from continuous work and is aimed at improving work-life balance, especially in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic that has necessitated many people across the world to work from home where the lines of personal and professional time are often blurred.
This new feature allows users to take a break from work and focus their attention elsewhere or get that cup of coffee. To trigger the Break Mode, all you need to do is hit the pause button at the left corner of the Status Bar (or use the Ctrl +. shortcut). The Break Mode mutes and stops audio and videos, hides all tabs, panels, and other content leaving the screen clean. When you are ready to resume the browsing activity, press play, and everything will be visible again and audios/videos will restart.
There are a couple of other ancillary use cases of the feature. Users can hide browsing activity on the screen in one go if interrupted by a colleague or a family member. Also, while using any other resource-intensive application, you can pause the browser to save up on resources, especially if a number of tabs are open or a video is playing.
There are some other new additions as well as improvements that come with Vivaldi 3.3 such as a new default Theme for Private Window, base domain highlighting, clickable parts of URLs in the Address Bar, and improved Tracker and Ad Blocker.
