Microsoft has released preview updates for Windows 10 version 1809, 1903 and 1909 on September 16, 2020. The updates KB4577069 for Windows 10 version 1809 and KB4577062 for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909, are non-security updates that address various issues in the operating systems.

The updates are not downloaded and installed automatically on Windows 10 devices; administrators find them under optional updates and need to select them manually for installation. The main idea behind these updates is to make them available to get feedback and Telemetry data before the wider rollout begins on the Patch Tuesday of the coming month. Windows 10 updates are cumulative in nature, and what is fixed in the preview updates is included in the next cumulative update for the operating system.

Most Windows users should not install these updates unless they fix issues that are experienced on the devices. Even then, it is recommended to create a system backup before installing them on a device.
