Microsoft is improving the favorites menu in Edge
#1
Information
Quote:Microsoft's Edge browser seems to be consistently getting new features and improvements to existing ones lately, and today another big change is being announced. The Redmond giant has announced a change to the favorites experience in the browser, making it easier for users to see and manage their favorite websites in a pinch.

Currently, the favorites button in the top bar of the Edge window only displays a list of the favorites in the "root" folder, with sub-folders being available in individual dropdowns. This dropdown menu also misses out on any management features, which have to be accessed through the full Favorites page. Now, that's changing, as Microsoft is introducing a new dropdown menu that presents favorites in a tree view, along with the ability to move items around between folders.

What's more, Microsoft is bringing back the ability to pin the favorites list to the side of the browser, so you can still see them while you visit websites. This was a feature in Edge Legacy, and Microsoft says it got a lot of feedback asking for its return, so this should be good news for fans of that capability. If you prefer the full-screen experience for managing favorites, that's still available, and you can access it by clicking the ellipsis button, and then "Manage favorites".

These changes are now available in the Canary and Dev channels, and it might be a while before they make their way to the stable release, but it should still be good to hear changes are on the way. If you can't wait to try it, you can download Edge Insider builds here.
