Tesla’s infotainment system can now play games from Steam library.
This took much longer than expected, but Tesla Model S and X equipped with the newest hardware platform can now play Steam games. The system can run thousands of games from the library, claims Elon Musk.
This announcement comes more than a year since Musk confirmed that the updated platform will offer around 10 TFLOPS of compute power, so a level close to PlayStation 5 console itself. The infotainment system supports so-called Arcade mode which now allows users to use Steam library to download and play games.
It is even possible to play with a keyboard and game pad, adds Musk.
Tesla’s system is based on AMD hardware, featuring a bit older Zen+ Embedded architecture and very capable RDNA2 graphics. It is reportedly based on Navi 23 with 28 Compute Units enabled. While the exact specs of the product are not known, it is expected to perform similar to Radeon RX 6600M graphics.

But this includes titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Witcher 3 or Elden Ring. Elon Musk himself already tried Cyberpunk 2077 and it ‘works great’. The game is demoed in the official video above.
The company previously teased its own Tesla-branded gamepad, but there were no updates on its availability.
