Today, AMD has unveiled its latest technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.0 (FSR3), with two game titles: Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum. These games come equipped with the integrated Frame Generation component as an integral part of FSR3. AMD is now making this Frame Generation technology available to more games separately, on the driver level as a “Fluid Motion Frame” toggle in Adrenalin software.

Notably, the launch of AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) is considered a preview release, not yet in its final form. AMD is actively seeking feedback from gamers to enhance its performance. This technology can be activated either through HYPR-X, the convenient one-click boost option within Radeon drivers, or on a per-game basis through the preconfigured game profiles.

The roster of AFMF-supported games is actually quite extensive, boasting 12 titles (which is a lot for a technology launch), many of which are highly popular. While none of these games currently feature FSR3 integration, the Frame Generation technology is now accessible in all of them when using a Radeon GPU.

Unfortunately, AFMF support for third-party hardware is not anticipated since it is an integral part of the Radeon graphics driver.

More importantly, AFMF will only work with Radeon RX 7000 series (Radeon™ RX 7900/7800/7700/7600 Series Graphics, specifically). Officially, it does not support any other card. However, users and reviewers are reporting that the driver actually works for other AMD processors, including Phoenix APU powered by RDNA3 architecture. Unfortunately, AFMF does not seem to work in this case (the feature is missing).
