Intel’s PresentMon is the backbone of many popular tools for frame monitoring. Before the 2.0 release, this software was used solely to collect data, while analysis was handled by other programs. This hasn’t changed much, but the newer version now includes GUI support, which may be useful enough not to use other software.

The latest update, version 2.3.0, adds support for key graphics technologies, such as XeFG (Intel’s new Frame Generation) and AMD Fluid Motion Frames. The software can now track if frame generation is utilized by either of these technologies.

Additionally, there’s an update for XeLL, Intel’s new Low Latency technology similar to NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag. The software now collects data on so-called “Instrumented Latency” for improved tracking.

Quote:PresentMon 2.3.0New Features
  • Added frame generation tracking support for Intel XeFG and AMD Fluid Motion Frames. The Displayed FPS metric now tracks both application and generated frames in the FPS calculation. In addition PresentMon will report the type of frame using the FrameType metric.
  • Added support for Intel XeLL and introduced a new metric called Instrumented Latency, which uses driver-based markers to accurately represent latency from frame start to when the frame is on the display.
  • Added ability to configure service logging via registry
  • Added Animation Time metric which is the time the CPU started animation work on a frame
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue where PresentMon would fail initialization the first time it is run after reboot
  • Improved accuracy of VRAM Read/Write bandwidth metrics on BMG

The software fully supports all major GPU vendors and is completely open-source. You can download the code or binaries through the links below. Alternatively, you can use software like OCCT or FrameView, which includes PresentMon.
