As Microsoft explains, cumulative update KB4493509 comes with a bug hitting certain sites when running Internet Explorer.
“After installing this update, Custom URI Schemes for Application Protocol handlers may not start the corresponding application for local intranet and trusted sites on Internet Explorer,” the company notes.
The second known issue is likely to hit enterprise users and not consumers, as it concerns the Preboot Execution Environment.
“After installing this update, there may be issues using the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) to start a device from a Windows Deployment Services (WDS) server configured to use Variable Window Extension. This may cause the connection to the WDS server to terminate prematurely while downloading the image. This issue does not affect clients or devices that are not using Variable Window Extension,” the software giant says.
In both cases, Microsoft explains that it’s already working on fixes, and they should be included in an upcoming cumulative update for Windows 10. No specific ETA has been provided though, so there’s a chance that the fix could land as part of the May 2019 Patch Tuesday rollout.
