Didn't work the first time as I already had an account.

But there is a workaround.

1. Delete your existing free account from this page: https://help.tunnelbear.com/customer/en/...my-account-

2. Go back to the Techradar promo URL, and sign up again using the same email id.

Optionally, you can get 1GB extra for Tweeting about Tunnelbear. So, I got 6GB.

How do you sign up? The promo page leads to Tunnelbear homepage. If I click get started its free does that give 5 gb or go to same old 500mb?

Used the plan free down below & finally it worked. Phew.

What you are doing is correct. It should say:

By signing up exclusively through TechRadar, score an additional 5GB of free browsing data!

Else, try clearing browser cookies, or use private browsing.

After signing up, go to account settings and verify that you got 5GB. Else, delete and retry.

Was logging in thru incognito so may be why it did not give 5GB. Now its 5000MB tweeted and now 6500MB remaining this month even better.
